 Yesterday on Yahoo! News an article was posted about two of summer 2012's big blockbuster films. The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises both released new posters. Both posters have a dark feel to them, but the poster for The Dark Knight Rises evokes more attention from people because of the questions it raises. The tagline for the upcoming Batman film from Christopher Nolan reads, "The Legend Ends," whereas the tagline for the first of a revamped Spider-Man series reads, "The Untold Story." Batman's tagline along with a broken Batman mask in the foreground and villain Bane walking away in the background raise questions about the fate of the hero. Both posters, however, continue to raise excitement. The Amazing Spider-Man premieres on July 3, 2012. The Dark Knight Rises premieres on July 20, 2012. The application called CarrierIQ, which is on most Android, BlackBerry, and Nokia phones, runs in the background and gathers user information, including the content of text messages. This application raises serious privacy concerns, especially considering the fact that users cannot stop CarrierIQ from gathering their information. Yesterday on Yahoo! News an article was posted from Good Morning America's Lauren Effron. The article was about an iPhone 4 that exploded during a flight on an Australian airline. The Regional Express flight from Lismore to Sydney was set to land when a passenger's iPhone 4 started emitting smoke and glowing red. A flight attendant carefully handled the situation and the phone was handed over to the Australian Transport Safety Bureau. This is a rare occurrence, but according to the article, other explosions have been reported in the past and have been attributed to the phone's lithium ion battery overheating. Yesterday on Yahoo! Sports an article was posted by Graham Watson about a new t-shirt Victoria's Secret started selling. As part of their collegiate line of apparel, Victoria's Secret released a Michigan State shirt (pictured). The shirt has the Spartans' logo on the back of the shirt and says "Spartans" across the front. Underneath "Spartans," the shirt also says "Hail to the Victors," the fight song of Michigan State's rival Michigan. According to the article, Darren Rovell, a CNBC sports business reporter, pointed out the error to Victoria's Secret and the shirts have since been pulled from sale. Monday on Yahoo! Games an article from Plugged In's Ben Silverman was posted online. The article focused on PETA's attack on Mario in his latest installment Super Mario 3D Land. PETA claims that Mario's Tanooki suit, which made its first appearance in 1988's Super Mario Bros. 3, supports abuse of animals by saying it's okay to wear fur. PETA brings up the real tanukis, which are raccoon dogs. They even went so far as to create a parody video game called Super Tanooki Skin 2D. Silverman finishes his article by saying, "Nintendo has yet to comment, though we're pretty sure it will sound like a hand slapping a forehead." Tonight on Yahoo! I discovered an interesting trending topic sitting in the first place spot. The topic was "invisibility cloak," the mysterious and valuable object in J.K. Rowling's famous Harry Potter series. According to an article by Liz Goodwin on Yahoo! News' The Lookout, a University of Texas Dallas scientist is making progress in creating such technology. The scientist, Ali Aliev, heats carbon nanotubes to create a "mirage effect" which makes the objects behind the nanotubes invisible. This article focused on the truth surrounding Osama bin Laden's death and claimed that most of what you've already heard were just "fairy tales." According to the article, Chuck Pfarrer's new book, "Seal Target Geronimo: The Insider Story of the Mission to Kill Osama bin Laden," reveals what really happened the night Osama bin Laden died.

The article discusses many of the differences between the truth and the "fairy tales," but one of the most interesting pieces of information to note revolves around whether or not bin Laden intended to put up a fight. The story that was told claimed that bin Laden was unarmed and quickly shot. Pfarrer tells a different story where bin Laden dives for an AKSU rifle before being shot and killed. 'Paranormal Activity 3' Breaks Records; 4th Seems Certain

Yesterday on Yahoo! Movies an article by Joshua L. Weinstein from Reuters was posted. Weinstein's article focuses on the likelihood of a fourth movie in the Paranormal Activity series. This almost seems necessary for Paramount Pictures in light of the fact that the series could arguably be considered the most profitable film series of all time. Altogether the budget for all three films totals around $8,015,000, but they have grossed over $450 million worldwide.

Also, after seeing the successful opening weekend of Paranormal Activity 3, a fourth seems certain. The third installment grossed $54 million in its opening weekend. Today, thanks to my friend Scott, I discovered this awesome sneak peak at a Harry Potter documentary. This documentary titled When Harry Left Hogwarts covers the last two films, Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and 2, in the wildly popular Harry Potter series. In this documentary, you get to hear more from the main trio of actors, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, about how they felt knowing they were leaving Hogwarts behind them. 'Glee' Set to Donate $1 Million to School Music Departments

Today on Facebook I came across a link to Glee Give A Note. This program is set up to donate money to deserving music departments at school's throughout the nation. The program is guaranteeing around $1 million in donations. The schools enter by submitting videos explaining why they deserve the funding. So far, Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts from my hometown, West Palm Beach, Florida, is in the lead with the most votes.
