Monday on Yahoo! Games an article from Plugged In's Ben Silverman was posted online. The article focused on PETA's attack on Mario in his latest installment
Super Mario 3D Land. PETA claims that Mario's Tanooki suit, which made its first appearance in 1988's
Super Mario Bros. 3, supports abuse of animals by saying it's okay to wear fur. PETA brings up the real tanukis, which are raccoon dogs. They even went so far as to create a parody video game called
Super Tanooki Skin 2D. Silverman finishes his article by saying, "Nintendo has yet to comment, though we're pretty sure it will sound like a hand slapping a forehead." Be sure to click on the link below to read the rest of Silverman's article. There is also a link to PETA's parody video game inside the article.
