Yesterday on Yahoo! News an article was posted from Good Morning America's Lauren Effron. The article was about an iPhone 4 that exploded during a flight on an Australian airline. The Regional Express flight from Lismore to Sydney was set to land when a passenger's iPhone 4 started emitting smoke and glowing red. A flight attendant carefully handled the situation and the phone was handed over to the Australian Transport Safety Bureau. This is a rare occurrence, but according to the article, other explosions have been reported in the past and have been attributed to the phone's lithium ion battery overheating.
