Apple Unveils iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C

Credit: Apple
Today was the day for Apple's big announcement. They unveiled their two new phones, the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. As predicted by some rumors, it appears as though Apple will no longer sell their iPhone 5 models. They will offer the iPhone 5S starting at $199, the iPhone 5C starting at $99, and the iPhone 4S at $0.

It seems as though the rumors discussed in my blog post last week were accurate. Click here to read last week's post. It is interesting to note, however, that the iPhone 5C will be available for pre-order on Friday, September 13th, but the iPhone 5S does not have a pre-order date at all. Instead, customers are directed to place orders on the actual release date of Friday, September 20th, or they can purchase in stores starting at 8AM that morning.

Be sure to check out Apple's homepage for all the details about the new phones, as well as news regarding iOS7 and iTunes Radio.

According to rumors all over the internet, Apple is set to announce their next iPhone model in one week. Apparently, Apple has confirmed a media event for next Tuesday, September 10, 2013. At this event, Apple will reveal the iPhone 5S, the iPhone 5C, and the new iOS 7.

The iPhone 5S, while retaining the physical design of the iPhone 5, should have other substantial upgrades. According to an article from Mirror News, the new model of iPhone should have a faster A7 processor compared to the A6 processor in the iPhone 5. The article claims that the A7 is 31% faster than the current version.

As well as a new processor, the iPhone 5S is rumored to have a Retina+ Sharp IGZO display. It should also include a 13MP camera with a dual LED flash which will increase performance with low-light photography. The new model should also be available in a new color or two, champagne and possibly graphite.

The article on Mirror News also describes a chip in the new iPhone 5S that could be related to motion tracking. The new chip could track user's eye movement while using their iPhones. For example, if they look away from the display, the screen light may dim.

The iPhone 5C will be a cheaper, more affordable version of the iPhone. This model should have a plastic casing that helps cut down on costs. Also, this model is rumored to be available in a variety of colors, including pink, blue, and yellow.

The official announcement from Apple can be expected next Tuesday. Rumors then put the release of the new iPhones on the following Friday, September 20, 2013. Be sure to click on the link below to read the article from Mirror News.

Earlier this week, Yahoo! News posted an article by Andrew Couts of Digital Trends. His article discussed the latest iPhone 5 rumors. According to the article, Engadget received an image from an anonymous source that pictured a 4G LTE kit in an Apple retail store. Also, Couts mentioned another rumor that the iPhone 5 is being slated for an October 7th release date with pre-orders beginning on September 30th. Of course, all of these are still rumors as Apple has not validated or released any information about the iPhone 5. Be sure to click on the link below to read the rest of Couts' article.

Newest iPhone 5 Rumors

Today on CNN.com, Doug Gross posted an article about the newest iPhone 5 rumors. According to the article, new images have been discovered displaying a new case for the next iPhone which show dramatic changes from the iPhone 4. While many believe these images to be trustworthy, many are still speculative. Other rumors, such as a better camera, faster processor, and a larger screen, are still continuing.

The next iPhone is still believed to be announced and/or released in September. The article also mentioned an interesting survey of 3,000 consumers. Of those surveyed, 35% claim they will purchase the next iPhone even though they currently have no verified information about it.
