Yesterday on Yahoo! News The Hollywood Reporter posted an article about the impending billion dollar ticket sales to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Today the news became official according to BoxOfficeMojo.com as the site currently reports the latest Potter film as grossing $1,008,460,000. After only about two weeks in theaters this film has become the ninth film to ever cross the $1 billion threshold.

It seems only fitting that today is officially the day that BoxOfficeMojo.com lists Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 as grossing over $1 billion because it is Harry Potter and author J.K. Rowling's birthday today. Be sure to click on the links below to check out the article and the film's page on BoxOfficeMojo.com.

Happy Birthday, J.K. Rowling and Harry Potter!
