Netflix Stock Drops as Prices Rise

Credit: Netflix
Found On: www.technewsdaily.com
Today on Yahoo! Finance an article from The New York Times writer Brian Stelter was posted pertaining to Netflix. According to Stelter, as Netflix's price hike took place this month the stock in the company dropped around 15%. The price hike which was announced earlier this summer involved the separation of streaming and DVD options. In order for a customer to have both they would have to pay $8 for each.

Along with their drop in stock, they have also seen a drop in customers as Netflix members cancel their accounts. On a brighter side, however, the company's chief executive, Reed Hastings, has claimed that the extra revenue for the company will help with their research and development as well as their content availability for streaming. Be sure to click on the link below to read the rest of Stelter's article.

Trending Topics: Friend Request = Contempt, a Twitter Bet, and the New 'Planking'

Found On: www.freeclipartnow.com
Today on Yahoo! News' Trending Now, Adriana Diaz discussed Facebook, Twitter, and the latest trend since 'planking' and 'owling.' According to the article, 22-year-old Jonathan Hudson sent a Facebook friend request to the defendant in the case he was serving jury duty for. This resulted in his removal from the jury and he was also charged with four counts of contempt of court. Luckily, however, he was only sentenced to two days of community service, whereas someone in a similar situation in the United Kingdom was sentenced to eight months in prison.

Next, Diaz discussed a bet that a British man made with his boss about Twitter. The employee wanted to get retweets to prove to his boss that social media is useful. For every retweet, his boss would give him 50 pence, but he would have to give his boss £10 if he didn't receive 10 retweets. Twitter seemed to have caught them both by surprise seeing as he received around 23,000 retweets. This would result in his boss having to pay him around £11,000 or approximately $20,000. According to Diaz, however, the boss isn't going to pay up.

Finally, Diaz focused on the latest trend since 'planking' and 'owling.' The latest trend is called 'stocking.' People take stock images and recreate the photographs. Diaz provides an example of one of Trending Now's 'stocking' pictures in the video above the article. Be sure to click on the link below to read the rest of Diaz' article and to watch the Trending Now video.
